REGULATIONS AND SYLLABI FOR POST GRADUATE COURSE IN SIDDHA MEDICINE (i.e.) M.D.SIDDHA.

I. AIMS AND OBJECTS: -

The main aim of Postgraduate education should be acquisition of specialised knowledge in Siddha Medicine, it also aims at producing competent scholars, experts, Scientists, teachers, clinicians in Siddha Medicine, Pharmaceutical experts and Research workers to carry on the work relating to Siddha Medicine in Universities, Research laboratories and other institution of a Higher learning.

At the Post graduate level of teaching in, Siddha Medicine viz., M.D. Siddha students are taught about elements of Modem Medicine and also "Recent, methods and advances in Modem Medicine solely for the purpose of keeping the students in Siddha Medicine abreast with the developments in Modem Medicine. This shall not, however entitle them to practice modem medicine.

II. DURATION

The post-graduate course in Siddha Medicine shall be of three years duration.


III. ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION TO THE COURSE: -

i) Persons who have passed Bachelor of Indian Medicine Degree course examination conducted by the Madurai. University or an examination accepted by the syndicate as equivalent there to,

ii) Persons who have passed Bachelor of Siddha Medicine & Surgery;

iii) Persons who hold degree in Siddha Maruthuvam, the duration's of which must be at least four years and have undergone an internship of Hospital for not less than six months and conducted by the Institutions as recognized by the State Government, or Central Government, or the Graduates of Siddha of foreign countries as recommended by the Government of India.

REGISTRATION: -

A candidate for the M.D. Degree shall register himself prior to the commencement of the course on the 1 st April or October paying the prescribed fees.
