Minimum Standards and Requirements for
Unani Tibbi Colleges and Attached Hospitals

Various Units attached to Unani College
Hospital
The strength of student-bed-ratio should be 1:2. Thus the minimum bed strength of teaching hospital for 50 admission will be 100 bedded hospital with 40% bed occupancy per annum.

Note: The newly established colleges shall have not less than 50 bedded hospital at the start to be raised to 100 within a period five years.

IPD
Beds may be reserved in the hospital for the following disciplines:-

100 Beds
OPD

There should be arrangement for outdoor treatment and the following departments shall be maintained in outdoor hospital:-
1. Casualty & Emergencies
2. Moalejat including Ilaj Bid Tadbir, Amraz-e-Jild & Amraze Zohrawiya
3. Jarahiyat Ain, Uzn, Anaf, Halaque-wa-Asnan
4. Qabalat-wa-Amraz-e-Niswan
5. Amraz-e- Atfal
6. Tahafuzi-wa-Samaji Tibb (Community Medicine including Family Welfare)

NOTE:

Special attention be paid in all above Departments Matab wa Nuskha Nawisi wa Ilaj bid Mufaradat.  
1. LIBRARY:

To start a new Unani College, the minimum number of books should be 2000 and it should be increased upto 5000 in four years time. The minimum sitting capacity in the reading room should be 30 seats.

2. STUDENTS HOSTEL:

There shall be separate hostel for boys and girls with well ventilated rooms, having good sanitary arrangement and provision of mess and common room.

3. HERB GARDEN:

Every college shall have Herbal Garden. At least 50 species of herbal plants included in the Syllabus of Ilmul Advia be grown in the Herbal Garden of identification and demonstration. It shall be under department of Ilmul Advia-wa-Saidla.
Note: The college should avail the facility of Botanic garden and forests available in the area.


4. GAMES:

Sufficient space where facilities for Indoor and Outdoor Games may be provided.

5. AUDITORIM:

Every college should have Auditorium as well as Conference Room

6. One Ambulance shall be provided for hospital.

The minimum space required for a 100 beded hospital should be about 20,000 Sq.ft.
